Amanda grew up on a ranch in western South Dakota and graduated from the University of South Dakota with a BA in English and theatre. Her favorite roles on the USD stage included May in Fool for Love, Gertrude in The Underpants, Sorel in Hay Fever, and the Assistant in Bobby Gould in Hell. She spent her first post-college summer working as a scenic artist at the Black Hills Playhouse in Custer, SD, before moving to the Netherlands, where she lived for more than a year. After returning to the States, she bounced from South Dakota to California to India, finally choosing Fort Collins as a new place to call home.

Amanda is a certified yoga and fitness instructor. She loves sports and is learning to play tennis. Much to Colorado's dismay, she has only been skiing twice in her life.
